What's in a Name?
Janhavi is pronounced Jon-ah-vie. I legally changed my name to Janhavi in the late 1980's. My Guru and Meditation Master gave the name to me when I met him in the mid 1970's. The name Janhavi is another name for Ganga, the goddess of the Ganges River in India.
Growing up Catholic on Long Island, I had a real life Fairy Godmother Auntie who introduced me to my three gifts in life - yoga, art and music. Yoga
Throughout the years, I have studied and taught Hatha Yoga, played harmonium, led numerous chants, and hosted many Satsangs, (literally: keeping the company of the truth) or gatherings of seekers at my home for spiritual practices. Many years of uninterrupted spiritual practices provided me with the foundational skills for my work as healer with others. The practices nurtured and enhanced skills including listening both within and without, silencing the mind and developed my already present skills as intuitive and empath. Foremost, it gave me an unshakable pathway and experience in connecting with Divine Source. This IS the source of all healing.

Healing
During that time, as I healed my own wounds and tragedies, I began to have a desire to want to help others in their healing. The following was a pivotal experience. While visiting a hospitalized friend while she was recovering from surgery, I placed my hands on her feet as a gesture of comfort. She commented that she could feel this warm energy emanating from my hands and moving up her legs. That inspired me to begin studying energy healing from a number of different books and teachers.

Spirit Guides
During 2001, I was led to deepening my studies in Meditation and Energy Science with the Ascended Masters and Guides, the beings of Light whose job it is to help with the evolution of consciousness for Mankind.
A primary and continuing source of this study follows the work of Orin and Daben (see www.orindaben.com). This group has many fabulous channeled courses of study including a course in "Awakening Your Light Body." I currently teach classes from their books in the Earth Life Series.

Spiritual Healing
I am an intern member of a healing group called "Healing in America". This group began in England in the 1950's under the name The National Federation of Spiritual Healers. I find their values and source inspiration in alignment with mine. I have completed their training and will soon apply for full membership.

Medical Assistance Program
Another very valuable source of assistance comes from the work of Machelle Small Wright. She successfully co-created a garden working with the nature spirits and devic kingdom. She did in America what the people at Findhorn did in Scotland. In addition, Machelle Small Wright created systems that others could replicate with success. I work with her Medical Assistance Program (MAP) and other techniques used for"Soil-less Gardening". These tools are a continual source of help and guidance.

Hellinger Family Contellation
I studied Hellinger Family Constellation work with Stephen Victor. (see www.stephenvictor.com) This is a compelling body of work that allows us to step into our ancestral fields. This vantage reveals unresolved traumas or hidden dynamics that gets passed down through the generations. Healing occurs as these problems are acknowledged and shifts are facilitated to allow Love to flow through the family.
